McLaren Sport – Links of London

Last month saw me shooting the new campaign on this collaboration between McLaren Sport and Links of London’s newly created range of men’s jewellery & accessories.

Shooting at the McLaren Headquarters, I shot both Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton just before the F1 season began. The drivers are already leading the driver’s and team championships after just three races.

The collection launches in store and online this week.

British Cycling is at its peak, and in the new Punto campaign team sponsors Fiat integrated cars and bikes to get their ‘Lets Clear the Air’ message across to their audience.
I  shot Geraint Thomas for the campaign creating four consecutive ads – and spent another day shooting cyclists for other executions which are due to run shortly.

Steven Gerrard Carling Cup Final

In their last year as sponsor,  Carling  saw the images produced 100ft high on the outside of Wembley Stadium and all around the ground. My fith straight year that I’ve had the honour to shoot the images saw them also reproduced in the match day program and extensively in national press.

The final has never been one to disappoint and this year was no different with extra-time, last minute goals, and a penalty shoot out. There is something deserved about Steven Gerrard  lifting the final  Carling trophy.

50 Years of The Sunday Times is celebrated at the end of this month with an exhibtion at The Saatchi Gallery on the King’s Road.

This pair of images that are featured in the exhibtion were originally shot for The Sunday Times at Capitol Recording Studios in Los Angeles, taking place on the back of the album shoot for the acclaimed Swing When You’re Winning album.

Honoured to be amongst such a high profile list of photographers. The exhibition is starting this week.

Tinie Tempah Disturbing London

Disturbing London, the home of Tinie Tempah, has enjoyed an incredible few years, having conquered both the single and album charts. Now the label is branching out to the fashion industry with their clothing range.

I shot the press campaign with Tinie, and other DL acts including G FrSH, Sasha Keable and Dot JR who modelled the new  collection. Not even a fog delayed plane arrival could slow an incredibly productive shoot.

The two concerts will be held at London’s stunning Royal Albert Hall, an all-time favorite venue of Gary’s, and will support disadvantaged young people by raising vital funds for The Prince’s Trust and The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry.

The Rugby World Cup fast approaching – here’s Chris Ashton modelling the new all black England change kit which seemed to cause the necessary stir in the news as England head off to the finals in New Zealand. Shooting the squad in a secluded location close to their training ground, the final images appeared as exclusives in The Times Magazine, Rugby World, and the majority of national newspapers. Here’s hoping they can emulate the success of  previous campaigns.

We shot Hollywood favourite Samuel L Jackson on location at the Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey, where the star hosts his annual golf tournament in aid of the Make a Wish charity Foundation.

Soon after posing on the greens and chipping golf  balls over the club members’ swimming pool, he was off to fit in as many holes as possible before the end of the day.

Following on from the hugely successful acoustic Ace of Spades  TV commercial with Lemmy from Motorhead, the ante gets upped once more with ska legends Madness.

An amazing slowed down and re-arranged version of Baggy Trousers seamlessly compliments the ‘Slow the Pace’ campaign from Kronenbourg 1664.

Traveling to Prague to shoot the story unfold together with the print ad, saw the boys from the band on top form.

This month sees me shoot with Edgar Ramires – ( The Bourne Ultimatum ) for People magazine.

I shot Edgar in London whilst he was filming the star studded Wrath of the Titans epic,  due out next year.

Snatching time between rehearsals, Edgar made it to a new location house in north London, fast racking up brownie points with the ladies on the shoot, before heading back for more heavyweight gladiatorial training in the ballroom of the London hotel,   The Dorchester.

The one-off sketch will be shown tonight (Friday 18th March, BBC One from 7pm) as part of Red Nose Day’s big TV extravaganza on BBC One.

This shot was made in a brief respite from the Manchester rain. Apparently it always rains on an Elbow shoot, but it certainly doesn’t dampen the strong bond that the band have from working together for years…..

Shot for the fourth year running, last weeks Carling Cup Final again produced one of those against the grain results.

The images were used to adorn the sides of Wembley 100ft high,  the press campaign, and the official matchday programme.

Shown here is one of Arsenal and Englands finest, Theo Walcott.

Shooting at the team’s tarining ground, we also shot Cesc Fabregas, Jack Wilshire, Nicholas Bendtner, Laurent Koscielny, and Arsene Wenger, and then a team from Birmingham.

The Match Against Poverty for the UN Haiti Relief fund

Zidane 11 versus Benfica AllStars played a mid-season friendly raising funds for the Haiti relief.

With a mobile studio at the players hotel in Lisbon and then underneath Benfica’s stadium, we shot over 40 players , ranging from Zidane, Kaka and Kluivert to Luis Van Gaal, Luadrup, and Pospescu.

The pictures will be published as a book and exhibition later in the year.

A different start to the new year and an advertorial for the RAF – two days knee deep in snow shooting how much fun it can be in training. Shooting scenarios from the assault course to the snipers, and looking for dead bodies ( simulated that is ) in the woods. We tried to postpone the shoot for better weather, but the RAF don’t stop for the elements……
